Forrest Gump Turns 30

One of the most polarizing winners of "Academy Award for Best Picture," Bob Zemeckis' brilliant adaptation of Winston Groom's dense novel opened 30 years ago today! What makes 'Gump' polarizing isn't so much its political or philosophical content -- although ppl like me have debated such things for hours at a time -- but because it had the misfortune of opening in the same year as Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption.
